A prominent adult content creator is working to normalize discussions about a natural physical characteristic that causes unnecessary shame for many individuals.
Sarah Button has become an advocate for awareness about FUPA (fatty upper pubic area), a completely normal physical trait that she herself has experienced since childhood. According to Button, she first noticed this characteristic at age 11 but lacked understanding about what it was.
“It made me feel different — and kids are really cruel too so they weren’t shy to point it out,” Button explained in an interview with news.com.au.
Understanding FUPA
WebMD explains that FUPA commonly develops after weight gain, but may persist even after weight loss. The medical resource notes that “if you have a vulva, the tissue on both sides — called the labia majora — can become fatty.”
The site further clarifies that even following significant weight loss, characteristics related to FUPA might remain. While weight management is beneficial for overall health, physical changes don’t always align with aesthetic expectations.

Personal Journey to Acceptance
Button shared that she spent years feeling confused about her body until age 23, when she decided to research her physical characteristics.
“I looked it up and there were so many clashing definitions online. I went down the rabbit hole and I figured out it is called a FUPA,” she recounted. “After I went down the rabbit hole I found so many people with the same body type and I realised I wasn’t deformed and we were all just hiding.”
Button now utilizes her social media presence to normalize conversations around this common physical trait. Her advocacy has resonated with many followers, with one commenting: “This is going to sound weird but thanks for talking about this. I have this too and also thought it was a deformity my whole life. I feel weirdly relieved that it’s apparently so common.”
Medical professionals at Mayo Clinic and other health institutions emphasize that body diversity is natural, and variations in physical appearance are entirely normal across the population.
